I know I’m supposed to tell something that happened to me.
We think our life is hard because something didn't really go the way we want.
After moving to the United State of America and met some people I realized that I'm blessed and I got nothing to complain about it.
Everything I want I try to get it; it might take some time to happen, but always does. So I decided to write about a friend I met here.
She was only nineteen year old when she moved from Paraguai to the USA after the American dream. She is the oldest of thirteen kids. Her father died when she was twelve year old and her mother with no money to raise her and her brothers and sisters sent her to live with the grandparents. They were very old, so she had to help them to do everything. She loved them, but she couldn't go to school because of it.
After her grandparents died she started working as a nanny for one neighbor. This family was moving to the USA and invited her to come with them. With no place to live, no money, she thought it would be the chance to change her life and help her family.
She said yes to them and they moved to Miami. She was so amazed with the city. She thought she had moved to heaven. Everything was so beautiful that nothing could go wrong on a place like that.
The first month was ok, but the lady changed with her, took her passport from her and told her if she wants to stay there with them she would have to clean the house and take care the four kids at the same time. Her schedule would go from 6:00 am to 12:00 am. She got no time for herself.
One day the neighbor got a new nanny, one girl from Mexico called Lili and they became friends. After a few playdates she told Lili everything she was going through and Lili told her she could help her to find a new job and she could go live with her until she could get a place for herself. At first she was scared of going away and start all by herself. But she decided to give it a chance and ruined away from her host family's house.
She got a job and things were starting to get better for her. One day hanging out with her friends she met the man that would be her future husband.
They were dating for one year he proposed to her. It was the happiest day of her life. One year later and they had their first kid. After the second child he lost his job and started drinking. He used to get home drunk and spank her. He blamed her for all the bad things were happen to him. With the years he became very violent and started beating the children too. And they had now four children. It made her to run away from him. She moved to Virginia two years ago with her four children, She got her green card and She found a job as a housekeeper, even she needs to clean somebody's else house 6 days a week she is happy now because she got to bring her mother from Paraguai to live with her and help her to take care her children and give them a better future.
After every hard and sad moment that She had in her life, She wakes up every morning and still finding a reason to smile and be thankful to God.
